The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.

How it Works

The Mazira Foundation annual Medical outreach is a program that reaches out to the community by offering free medical services

The medical Services emphasize primarily on preventive medicine (Primary, Secondary and Tertiary). This project targets a section of the society that is deprived of accessible and quality health care probably due to their financial inability and ignorance of their right to health care or lack of knowledge of the importance of seeking early medical intervention.

The medical camp emphasis is on preventive medicine and this is implemented through the Nutrition department which has over the years developed and become the backbone of our medical outreach; The Hygiene department which has been involved in the fight against jiggers in Vihiga; The Diagnostic department focusing on laboratory services; Screening (cervical cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, HIV testing and counseling) The Doctors office (general check up and early intervention for both adults and children);Special Clinics (Dental, Ophthalmology & Surgery); First Aid in Home emergencies whose objective is to minimize accidents in the home and  to provide simplified first aid treatment, learn more here.

The Foundation depends on the cooperation and support from the County health offices, health professionals, public health and sanitation experts, members of the public, local authorities and donors.
